Wednesday Evening Walk: Berkhamsted Station to Berkhamsted Common

This is a picturesque walk of 4.5 miles with a spectacular view over Berkhamsted to finish, and if we're lucky that will also give us an amazing sunset to walk into; a delightful breath of fresh air at the end of the day. Walking time approx. 2 hours.

The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.

After the walk there's the option to stay for a chat and a drink at the Crystal Palace pub (pictured).

Parking
Parking may be available at the Canal Fields Car Park, which is accessed by Broadwater. (Take Lower Kings Road over the canal, turn left into Broadwater and follow the windy road past Berkhamsted Football Club.) Please note that there are no public toilets in that car park but it is possible to use the nearby Waitrose facilities.

Please give yourself fifteen minutes to find somewhere to park in case the main Canal Fields Car Park is full. Parking along the road by Berkhamsted Castle should also be possible.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals. These events are not for children.
