Tuesday Evening Walk from The Three Horseshoes at Winkwell

This walk is a new one of 5 miles from the stunning Three Horseshoes pub on the canal at Bourne End, just outside Hemel Hempstead. The walk includes stretches of the Grand Union Canal, which should be delightful on a Summer's evening, plus paths through fields, meadows and woods, with some hillside views over the valley. Walking time about 2 hours.

The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.

After the walk there is the option of staying for a drink and a chat at the Three Horseshoes pub, which is ideally situated on the canal, and we should be back just in time for the sunset.

Free Parking - but register your number plate when you get there
Free parking is available in either of the pub's two car parks at The Three Horseshoes, the larger car park is 100 yards up the lane from the canal (on the pub side of the canal). Our walkers are welcome to use the car park, which is for patrons only; the pub are happy to consider us 'patrons' collectively, even if individually not everyone will stay for refreshments afterwards. You will need to register your car registration number either way on arrival.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals.
