Saturday Walk: An Explore around Heartwood Forest

For this walk we'll explore the charms of Heartwood Forest just outside St Albans. We'll walk about 4 to 5 miles, taking in various paths, meadows and planned forest, including The Magical Wood, sponsored by Disney and dotted with wooden creature carvings (see photo gallery below). Walking time approx. 1.5 to 2 hours.

The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.

After the walk there's the option of staying for a chat, food and a drink at The Queen's Head, Sandridge, which is 350 metres from the main car park - a walk we'll incorporate into the end of our walk for those who want to stay for a drink.

Free Parking
There is free parking at the main entrance car park (called Heartwood Forest Parking) and there is an overspill car park, plus nearby parking in Sandridge.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals. These events are not for children.
