Sunday Walk: Coombe Hill and Chequers Estate

This is a classic walk of 6 miles we trialled last year to the famous Coombe Hill with it's popular lookout point. We start from the Russell Arms, Butlers Cross and our route takes us the easy way up to the monument, with stunning views across the landscape. We then follow the Ridgeway bridleway through the woods, down and across to the Chequers Estate, the Prime Minister's country residence. Walking time approx. 2.5 hours.

The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.

If you wish to you can stay afterwards for a post-walk chat and drink at The Russell Arms.

Meeting and Parking
We'll meet outside the car park of the Russell Arms.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals. These events are not for children.
