Sunday Walk from Bridgewater Monument

This enchanting 6.7 mile forest-based walk takes us from the Bridgewater Monument tower in the Ashridge Estate, out through the woods along Duncombe Terrace, a nice wide path that takes us out to some great views across the hills near Ivinghoe Beacon as we walk down to the unusual Ward's Hurst Wood, on to the hamlet of Ringshall, back into Ashridge Estate along Ringshall Drive, across the golf course, through the woods and back to the tower. Walking time approx 2.5 hours.

The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.

After the walk you can stay for a chat and refreshments at the Monument Cafe.

Meeting Point and Free Parking
We'll meet at the base of Bridgewater Monument. There is free parking near the monument, and at other points along the half-mile-long driveway after turning off the B4506. Please note that this is NOT Ashridge House. Ashridge House is about a mile away as the crow flies.

Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.

Dogs are welcome as always but please be mindful to keep them on leads for roads and around other animals. These events are not for children.
