Tring and Berkhamsted Christmas Walk: The Artisan at Cow Roast
Details
This is a brand new route for the Tring and Berkhamsted Christmas Monday Walk, from the super-sized Artisan Bar and Grill at Cow Roast between the two towns, which also has ample free parking. Our route takes us up through the leafy footpaths of Lower Wood, along a rural track called The Wick, which is a lovely wide open space, and round into the stunning Tring Park, with its breathtaking views across the valley. Through the rural, tree-lined boulevard of Tring Park we then have a glorious descent, through Longton Wood, and down through the hills to the canal, with views as far as the eye can see. Back in time for drinks and an optional lunch at the destination restaurant. Distance 6.5 miles. Walking time approx. 2.5.
The price for the walk is £2 to cover costs.
So, of course, after the walk there's the option of staying for a chat, food and a drink at The Artisan.
Free Parking
There is free parking in any of three free public car parks along the track, just to the right of the entrance to The Artisan. This track accesses the municipal football pitches and the padel centre (Berko Padel) at the far end of the track.
Please note that this walk is not led by a qualified leader and, as such, isn't covered by insurance. Be sure to wear suitable boots and clothing. The organiser cannot be held responsible for any injuries, however caused. Members are expected to take responsibility for their own preparation and safety including adequate fluids, weather protection and a snack. Please be sure to make me aware if you have any medical conditions.
