We’ll also explore the Aachen Forest and nearby Eifel trails, known for their rolling hills, woodland paths, and panoramic views. Hikes will be moderate in difficulty and suitable for most fitness levels. Bring comfortable walking shoes, warm layers, and a daypack.

It’s a scenic loop starting at the Aachen Cathedral (Dom) that quickly leaves the historic city center behind and leads into the surrounding countryside. Expect a mix of urban heritage, quiet forest paths, and open meadows, all within a manageable day hike of about 12–15 km.
• Starting point: Aachen Dom (Cathedral), UNESCO World Heritage site in the city center
• Distance & duration: approx. 12–15 km, 3.5–4.5 hours walking
• Difficulty: Easy to moderate – mostly flat with gentle climbs
