The Mechels Broek is a peaceful wetland nature reserve just outside Mechelen, known for its marshy meadows, reed fields, and abundant birdlife. Trails lead you past water ponds, knot willows, and grazing Galloway cattle, with several birdwatching points including an observation tower. Expect a mix of muddy paths, wooden boardwalks, and wide views over the Dijlevallei. Perfect for a relaxed, nature‑focused walk with plenty of chances to spot ducks, geese, herons, and even storks.

Weather
The weather will be cool with grey clouds, flashes of sunshine and some clouds and maybe a bit of rain. Temperatures will be in the range of maximum 20°C.
