Track 1: Kotlin Boutique
In this workshop, Jarno Walgemoed and Stephan Oudmaijer, will highlight some of the features Kotlin has to offer to developers coming from the Java ecosystem. Making this more tangible, the participants will start with a Java/Spring Boot based web-application and migrate this to Kotlin while maintaining the interoperability with existing Java code and adding new features as we go. The goal is to provide a practical insight in how Kotlin’s concise and expressive syntax could help developers write code that’s easier to understand and maintain. Track 2: Kotlin and Android
Kotlin has made quite the big wave in the Android community. After having to develop in Java 7 while the rest of the world has been using all the best a modern programming has to offer, Kotlin brought that to the world of Android development and much more. In this workshop César Chrétien and Denis Skuratovich, we'll be building a chat application from scratch with the help of Firebase to show you how Kotlin allows you to build something seemingly complex with compact and concise code.
Track 3 - Try Kotlin
In Track 3 you can try the online step by step Kotlin course by Kotlin Koans in your browser to get familiar with Kotlin
Track 4 - JavaScript/CSS/HTML Workshops
In Track 4 you can you choose one or more of several online workshops. Whether you want to start with programming, you're curious to know what this JavaScript thing is all about, create your first web page, get more familiar with backend development through Node.js. It's for all levels, we will have a rookie table for beginning developers. You can opt to start straight away with the workshops or first attend the presentation on Kotlin.
