Introduction to ReactJS

Details

School of Code are teaming up with ALCMY Studios to host a meetup for people interested in learning about ReactJS.

In the past 5 years we have seen a proliferation in the number of open source JavaScript platforms for making front-end application development easier, like Angular and Vue. Sometimes this might feel a bit daunting and overwhelming as we try to devote time and effort in learning new frameworks. With the rise of single page applications, we feel its the right time to shine a spotlight on ReactJS and rave more about the benefits and share tips and best practices on the platform.

We're very excited to welcome Andrei Nemes, as our speaker to deliver an introduction to the world of ReactJS. He will be covering what ReactJS is and how it compares to other JavaScript libraries such as Angular, Ember, and Backbone. He will also touch on some best practices when it comes to developing in React. Andrei is a talented and passionate Software Engineer with breadth of experience developing cutting edge front-end solutions. He is also a champion for ReactJS and has been helping businesses all over the West Midlands discover the benefits of adopting the technology in their own applications.

We are also excited to welcome our second speaker Curio from Ticketlist. Curio is the CTO of Ticketlist, which is a contemporary mobile ticketing and event experience platform for the millennial generation. Curio is a passionate and eccentric technologist who has embraced ReactJS and React Native across his platform. He will be giving us an inside point of view of adopting ReactJS in both his Mobile and web applications.

Last but not least we are over the moon to introduce our last speakers from the School of Code Bootcamp: Chris Miller, Sharon Kaur and Ben Rosell. School Of Code have been running a 16 week software development course that takes motivated individuals with no previous technical experience and transforms them to entry level software professionals. They will be giving us their experience inside the Bootcamp and what they have learnt about React so far.
