What we’re about
We are a group of friends who are interested in the School of Life and Alain de Botton’s philosophies and we want to build a community in Sydney to meet like-minded people.
The aim is to help us to flourish! We're all at different points in our lives, and need different things. It is only when we have a sense of who we really are that we can make reliable decisions, particularly around love and work.
This require tools and techniques for developing self-knowledge and finding fulfilment.
We hope that this community can provide avenues for people to make their own tools – ideally it provides multiple arenas in which people can develop emotional skills, physical skills, marketable skills, intellectual skills.
The community should feel like home and feel safe. It should let you be your whole self without compartmentalisation. It should take care of its members, help them meet their social needs and develop deep friendships.
We hope to have you join us in this journey of self discovery. If you’re reading this, you’re invited. Please don’t feel like you “won’t be welcome” just because you’re new to the movement, demographically different from the average member, or hate the School of Life and everything it stands for. You’ll be fine!
We usually meet every 3rd Sunday of the month at 4pm at Humanist house (10 Shephard St, Sydney) and go until 6pm. Please check our meet up page below for the latest update.
