Consent and Permission: A School of Peace Salon

Details
What is consent? What is permission? Are these the same and if not, how are they different?
We will begin with introductions and a brief series of ice breakers and to get our ideas flowing. Then we will use the "3 Minute Game" as a form of inquiry with time for reflaction and discussion between rounds.
We will have a closing circle around 9:30. Seating is on the floor with pads and pillows. You are welcome to bring back-jacks if you have them. You are also welcome to bring snacks if you like. There is a cat in the house. There is no charge for attending and donations are gratefully accepted.
FAQ
What is a salon?
What I am imagining is a place to discus and exchange ideas on a wide variety of topics. It is less formal than a workshop, there are no experts, and no one is teaching you anything. It is more formal than a hangout, there is a suggested theme and structure. I am sure it will evolve with time.
Ground rules for our salon
- All views, opinions and beliefs are welcome and respected
- Practice self-care at all times
What is School of Peace?
School of peace is a place to reflect exchange and experiment in the various aspects of peace. Peace with self, peace in relationship, peace with community, even world peace, these are all open subjects. The world has a long history of studying conflict and the art of war. When the paradigm of conflict and violence collapses, and it will, we must have the skills to create a new culture of peace, trust, and cooperation.
