Details
This session takes a deeper look at recent AI breakthroughs and their limitations, with a special focus on reasoning models, internal representations, and insights from biology.
We’ll begin with a short presentation outlining key themes, including:
- Whether Grok 4 may be showing early signs of AGI
- Potential inherent limitations in reasoning models and if they can be overcome
- The need for stable, decomposable representations in achieving general intelligence
- Lessons from biology and collective intelligence, especially the work of Michael Levin, on evolution, self-organization, and intelligence in non-traditional substrates
After each main topic, we’ll pause for a short group discussion, followed by a larger open conversation after the presentation wraps up.
This event is ideal for anyone curious about where AI is heading, what might be missing from today’s models, and how insights from biological systems might shape the next generation of intelligence.
