WHAT IS THIS?
This is a group for those concerned with furthering science communication, science education, skepticism, and critical thinking by leveraging the tools of design. Getting people to learn about science, accept scientific consensus, and use critical thinking in their decisions is a constant struggle. This is a forum for different disciplines to come together and help solve small-scale problems related to these issues that may potentially scale up to bigger successes. Maybe design thinking can help in some small way.
WHO IS WELCOME?
Designers, science communicators, scientists, cognitive psychologists, skeptics, and anyone else who feels their experience can help.
WHAT'S THE HOPE FOR THE GROUP?
The idea is that eventually this group can become large enough and diverse enough for the members to begin collaborating. A member would propose an issue related to sci-comm and critical thinking that should be addressed, and the group would then work on figuring out ways to resolve that issue.
