World building

Both within the sub-genres of science fiction and of fantasy, there are books that stand out because of the vividness and creativity of some (or all) aspects of their fictional worlds. Maybe they feature an intricate history and geography, or the author took exceptional care in creating an imaginary but plausible ecology. Maybe even the author went all the way by constructing entirely new languages for their world!

All of the above are aspects of the topic for this meeting: "World building".
You are thus invited to briefly present one or more books of any kind that loosely fit within this topic.

Afterwards we will have a casual and friendly chat about the books, about the subject of world building, and wherever else the conversation takes us!

You are of course welcome to bring the books you want to discuss, but it's also fine if you don't.
