The villain has a point

This time we are interested in genre books (science fiction, fantasy, horror, etc) where one could argue that rather than being purely driven by self-interest or evil, there was a legitimate point behind the actions of the villain. And the more morally ambiguous the better!

As usual, you are free to interpret the topic any way you want, but whatever your choice you are cordially invited to present one or more books to the group!
