The near future

For this meeting we are interested in SF books dealing with the near future. As an example, consider science fiction books set just a few years or a couple of decades ahead, in a world with technology that it's still mostly recognisable and easily extrapolated from the reality of 2026. Another suggestion is for books written many decades ago, but which depict the near future (our past) at the time they were written.

Regardless of your choice, you are cordially invited to present one or more genre books (science fiction, fantasy, horror, etc) that are set in what can be described as the "near future".

Afterwards we will have a casual and friendly chat about the books, about the near future, and wherever else the conversation takes us!

You are of course welcome to bring the books you want to discuss, but it's also fine if you don't.
