Beginning of our Universe
Details
First Meeting of the Series.
Where did our universe come from? Sunday we will look how the discovery of the red shift in the early 20th century radically changed our view of the universe. From there we will dive into Big Bang cosmology and look at the philosophical implications of our universe having a beginning. With these new insights from cosmology we will take a fresh look at Genesis chapter one and other Biblical passages on the Universe and the nature of time. If you have not heard these concepts before, it is a fascinating topic and deals directly with the “is there a God?” question.
Where: Bel Air Church, 16221 Mulholland Dr., L.A. Room DC101 or 102, check door signs for final room assignment. When you enter the main patio level, one level up from the parking lots, the church entrance will be on your right and the classroom building on the left. We will meet in one of the first two rooms.
Parking: Park in one of the lower lots on either side of Mulholland just before the church. Walk or take a shuttle bus up the driveway to the main patio level. For handicapped parking, take the church driveway just after the lower parking lot and go up the hill to the top parking lot.
Netflix Documentary:
Netflix has an interesting documentary on the James Webb Telescope called “Unknown, Cosmic Time Machine”. If it interests you, this is a good time to watch is as it is relevant to this week’s topic.
