Are we alone in the universe?

We will start by examining what is the likelihood intelligent extraterrestrial life exists? How unique is earth and the sun? If there is advanced intelligent life around another star, could we detect it? Could we travel to it or it to us? Could we even communicate with? What would be the risks of doing so? What about non-carbon-based life? A discussion of UFOs will be saved for the following week.

Where: Bel Air Church, 16221 Mulholland Dr., L.A. Room DC102
When you enter the main patio level, one level up from the parking lots, the church entrance will be on your right and the classroom building on the left. DC102 is the center classroom.
Parking: Park in one of the lower lots on either side of Mulholland just before the church. Walk or take a shuttle bus up the driveway to the main patio level. For handicapped parking, take the church driveway just after the lower parking lot and go up the hill to the top parking lot.
