Summary of the previous meeting: four attendees discussed the role of emotion in technology. Does it exist? Should it exist? We discussed how robots with emotion could help in hospice care. We discussed emotional manipulation in the media, and addictive dopamine highs of scrolling media facilitated by tech. We discussed the challenges between two common forms of motivation, work done for the common good (such as social services and local government) and work done for a return on monetary investment (capitalist). Each have their own benefits, such as the speed of technological change is much faster in the capitalist. However, neither is sufficient on their own.
