Join us for an exciting event where Dr. Tim Rayner will share his expertise on aviation security checkpoints. This in-person event will take place at 3 Car Garage Brewing in Bradenton, FL, USA. Curious about the behind-the-scenes journey of your bag through an airport checkpoint? Ever wondered about the rotating towers when you raise your hands? This presentation aims to demyistify the entire process of baggage and personnel screening. We'll delve into the reasons behind these procedures, the methods employed, and the resulting outcomes. Various screening techniques such as x-ray, CT, and x-ray diffraction for baggage will be explored, alongside active millimeter wave and inductive metal detection. We'll also cover technologies and procedures for resolving alarms, including electronic trace detection, Raman spectroscopy, and dielectrometry. By the end of this talk, you'll be equipped with knowledge to pack smartly, avoiding the unease of your bag being flagged or the metal detector sounding off.
