Central Station 🌃 by Lavie Tidhar - Book discussion
Details
For our next book we are leaving Europe and heading to the Middle-East. Central Station by Lavie Tidhar (2016, Israel) is a vibrant, character-driven sci-fi mosaic set in a future Tel Aviv built around a massive space hub. Instead of one big plot, it weaves together interconnected lives - humans, robots, and everything in between - exploring identity, culture, and what it means to belong. The vibe is warm, imaginative, and fun. There are subtle nods to the region’s history and tensions, but they’re background texture rather than the focus. Central Station was nominated for the Arthur C. Clarke Award, and won the John W. Campbell Memorial Award for Best Science Fiction Novel (2017).
I will update the location soon!
Happy reading - and feel free to reach out beforehand if you have any questions! - Amber
