Scriptorium Book Club Meeting

Details
Come and join us talking about books!
What the Book Club is about
We are a group of amateur writers who are currently writing their debut novels. We want to start a book club with an emphasis on the craft aspect of the books. How well was it written, what technique used, what can we learn as authors from the book? While our book club will be especially useful to you if you are an aspiring writer we will welcome everyone regardless of literary ambitions, age, profession or location.
We aim to be a politics free space where the focus lays on the craft of writing.
Where we meet
The discussions will be held over discord, you can join our server via the link on the side.
On the discord server we will be voting on our future books. We will also distribute some additional material there.
We are also having a weekly Writers meeting where we discuss all topics related writing. You can join us there as well on our discord.
We meet every tuesday at 6pm (GMT+2 Berlin Time) for about an hour. Our first discussion will be on tuesday 18th of April.
How we read
Our first book is one of the ultimate classics and a staple of the canon of western literature “The Count of Monte Cristo” by Alexandre Dumas. We are going to discuss the book in increments of about 50 pages at a time to make sure that everybody can follow along. On our first meeting (18/4) we will have an introduction to the book club and each other before diving right into the book.
Attendance
You are free to only attend in the weeks when you can manage to and skip the weeks when life comes in the way, no hard feelings. We post regular updates and summaries of our discussions so you can stay up to date even when you can’t attend one week.
If we kindled your interest then come and join us. We are so excited for you already.
