About us
Hi there! Welcome to the group :-) This group is part of Scottish Hillwalking & Activities Group - for walking/hillwalking events. The other part of the group is for climbing events and if you're interested in that, please join https://www.meetup.com/scottish-hillwalkers/
We're a friendly group that was founded in 2008 to be run by the members for the members. We encourage members to "own the group" and help keep the page active by hosting events, but there is definitely no requirement to do so.
We organise a wide range of walks year round including single Munros, multiple Munros, scrambling over ridges, weekends away and a selection of low level longer walks, pub walks and summer evening walks..
These shouldn't be considered "led walks" with a professional guide. Think of it more as going walking with a group of friends (and while you may not be friends with everyone at the start of the walk, you will be by the end of it!). However, everyone has to take responsibility for themselves as well as for each other, and everyone has a role to play (be it offering lifts to the start, helping with the navigation on the walk or bringing the jaffa cakes!)
The organiser of a walk or event is the point of contact for the walk. Organisers do not lead walks and are not responsible for others or instructing them. Organisers are volunteers who are sharing their own experience with others, so those of lesser experience should be aware of this.
The group is completely free to join, but we may occasionally ask for a voluntary £3 donation to help cover the cost of hosting the group on Meetup.com.
If you have some ideas for walks and activities or perhaps once you have been on a few events, would like to get involved in organising one, please send us a message via Mountain Goat's Meetup profile.
Look forward to seeing you on a meetup soon,
Mountain Goat

Hard: Beinn Dubhcraig & Ben Oss
Dalrigh, FK20 8RX, GBA bit of a baggers couple of munros, these are definitely less popular than many of the nearby hills. There's a normally very boggy wet section approaching these through the forest however the walk highlands description below highlights some of the hills great points.
I last did these hills 11 years ago, happy to follow the WH route.
Meet at Dalrigh car park (Free) https://maps.app.goo.gl/GL4D7CQWj4bhsUL58 (From Glasgow approx 1 mile before Tyndrum, turn left)

Amble up Beinn a Chrulaiste, Glen Coe
Glencoe Mountain Resort, Glencoe, Argyll PH49 4HZ, Glasgow, GBA new type of walk - ambles, slow pace, a chilled out walk, short walk, not too far, not too high.
Beinn a Chrulaiste is a Corbett with perhaps the best mountain view in Scotland. https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fortwilliam/beinn-a-chrulaiste.shtml
I'm planning on bus again as the parking here is dreadful. I am booked on the Ember bus from Glasgow leaving Buchanan Bus Station at 8 am and arriving in Glencoe at the Mountain Resort at 10:21 am (I've booked my return journey for half past six). I've set the walk start as 11 am. This also allows enough time for drivers.
Rough plan
Getting the Ember bus from Glasgow to Glencoe and getting off at the Glencoe Mountain Resort (Chairlift Road End). Going to the Glencoe Mountain Cafe for a toilet stop and coffee/snack. If any people are travelling by car, we meet up with them at the Glencoe Mountain Resort car park or cafe. It is basically the same route but starting at a different point and getting the long walk done at the beginning. Then we climb the hill as per the Walk Highlands route but descend down to the Kingshouse Hotel (approx 5 - 6 hours). Once we've had a coffee/drink/chat, we head back to the bus stop and get the bus back.Suitable for public transport and by car. It is a long distance by public transport however, I see it as ' a bit of a journey to get there to do a hill I've wanted to do for ages, in good company'.
Summary
• Grade: Moderate
• Time: 5 - 6 hours walk / 5 hours public transport / 3 hours car
• Distance: 11km / 6.75 miles
• Ascent: 652 metresSUITABILITY/PARTICIPATION STATEMENT
