Planning to bag these 2 most westerly Luss grahams again, last did them in 2023. Definitely on the more strenuous side of moderate, these hills give a lovely ridge on Chaorach and its minor top Tarsuinn. There is quite rough, pathless heathery/grass descents from both hills.

Beinn a' Mhanaichs strone hill & summit to start, with great views down Gare loch and to Arrochar alps.

We retrace our steps for approx 1.1km before descending east to the glen floor then ascend a feint, quite steep path which becomes clearer towards the ridge, to the summit of Beinn Chaorach. We shortly descend SW to a parking area, 400m on main road from the walk start.

Mhanaich is a military training area and if restrictions are in place we can climb Chaorach only or possibly the alternative, slightly further north graham Cruach an t-Sidhein.

Sorry no dogs on this walk, there are sheep and some restrictions on the route.

Turning off the A82 road, meet in the first lay-by on the left on the A817 haul road (Lay-by 300m approx from A82).

The parking for these hills is -quite limited and if required numbers wise we can then car share or convoy the approx 9km to the walk start. (Due to the busy road, we need to leave a car/cars at 2 parking areas).

TERRAIN
Decent broad clear path to start on Mhanaich, quite steep to Chaorach and pathless heathery terrain descending from both grahams.
