Easy/Moderate : Crawick Multiverse/Kirkland Hill

A trip to two locations which gives you the option of coming along for the full day or if you prefer just doing one of the walks.Firstly starting with a visit to the Crawick Multiverse near Sanquhar,a landscape featured art installation representing aspects of astronomy,there's an entry fee of £8.50 if you are coming along,details of the visitor centre here.

For the second part of the day we head along to Kirkconnel for 1.30 pm to do Kirkland Hill which is a pleasant wander giving views over the Dumfries and Lowther hills area.Limited parking at the walk start so we will car share from the car park on Duke Street which is located off the Main Street in Kirkconnel.
TERRAIN
Grassy track leading up to the top of Kirkland Hill,it disappears near the summit but reasonable walking underfoot,have to cross over a fence at the final section.

The Scottish Hillwalkers and Activities Group recognises that hill walking,scrambling and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death.Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions and involvement.
SUITABILITY
If you have a habit of putting your name down for walks and don't turn up or cancelling at the last minute don't sign up for the walk.You must have the fitness and stamina to complete the walk without difficulty. We will walk as a group at a moderate pace.
You are responsible for deciding if this event is suitable for you, coming adequately prepared and looking after yourself on the walk. If there's any questions about suitability, please contact the organiser.
CLOTHING & EQUIPMENT
You must ensure that you come adequately prepared for this walk with hillwalking boots, waterproofs, warm clothes, gloves and hat and food and water.

We will meet at the car park at Crawick Multiverse.If you are only doing the hill-walk there's a car park in Kirkconnell on Duke Street,we can car share from there if required to the parking area at the walk start point. If you need a lift please use the comments box below to ask for one.If receiving a lift, agree beforehand with your driver how you're splitting costs, share contact details and keep car tidy.
