Preparing Our Kids for An Online World

Details
I don't know about you, but I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 21 years old and a junior in college. Facebook had just gotten started, but was mainly used by college kids. Twitter, instagram, snapchat? They didn't exist. Just 20 years later, the landscape for our kids is so different. More and more teens (and younger) are spending huge amounts of time online, and if you believe any of the reports that have been coming out, it's not necessarily good for them. As dads, how can we best prepare ourselves and our kids to benefit from this new technology while avoiding the many harms? What are some practical tools and steps we can take to protect them?
I am excited that Ryan Heath will be speaking to us to answer these and other questions on January 11th, 6-8:15 pm. The event will take place at Great Hearts Archway Scottsdale in the MPR. The link to register and details for the event for the is below:

Feel free to spread the word and invite friends, just please make sure everyone registers so we know who is coming. This event does not involve or require any religious commitment or affiliation. It is an opportunity to share a meal, be equipped in our role as fathers, and have some meaningful conversation with other dads on this important topic.
