Details

Join us for January's Scratch Ed Meetup! This will be a participant-led hour of sharing and discussion about all things Scratch. Show the group how you are using Scratch with your students. If you have questions about getting started with Scratch, or about how to incorporate Scratch into your core curriculum, you are welcome. No previous programming experience is necessary!

Confirmed topics so far include: using the HSGE Creative Computing Lab's Getting Unstuck curriculum materials, interactive Scratch science projects with Makey Makey, and digital dioramas with Scratch Jr.

Scratch is a block-based computer programming language suitable for students in 2nd grade and up. Scratch Jr is a programming language designed to be accessible for emerging readers. Both are easily incorporated into the core curriculum subjects and give students another way do demonstrate mastery in those content areas.

Scratch Ed Meetups are teacher organized and run using the "Ed Camp" model of collaborative agenda creation. Topics are set according to the needs and interests of the participants. Scratch Ed Meetups are always free.
