Producer Pro Tips from Nic Cage's First Western

Micah Haley, a former editor-in-chief of Scene Magazine, produced The Old Way, Nicolas Cage’s first Western and one of the 10 top films watched on Hulu this week. (Micah's IMDb page). He’ll be our featured guest for our July meeting and will talk about making The Old Way and how to produce an indie film with bankable talent, even with a modest budget.
To kick off our summer series of meetups, we’ll be doing a combined meeting with our sister meetup, the Baton Rouge, Film, TV, Theater, & Music Industry Meetup. That way, our writers and filmmakers can learn from Micah and get to know each other better.
We’ll be meeting at Juban’s, known for its elevated Creole cuisine and beautifully renovated dining rooms. A few of us will be hanging out by the bar at 6:00, but the official meeting will start at 6:15.
