Creating a story that hooks readers and keeps them engaged from the beginning right through to the end requires a fully constructed plot with the right elements in the right order. Terms such as the inciting incident and the call to action are often talked about, but do you really know what they are and where they fit in the story line?
Do you know the difference between 3 Act Structure and the Hero's Journey? Or what Freitag's pyramid looks like?
How many subplots are too many?
Come along and find out the answers to these and other questions.
This is a friendly and informal group where we get together to talk about a variety of topics raised by the members of the group on the night. All aspects of the art, craft, and business of writing are open for discussion.
Whatever genre you write in and whatever your level of experience you are welcome to come along and meet other writers. Bring your questions, share your knowledge and opinions, have fun!
PLEASE NOTE: The session is held on zoom and the link is sent out by message to all participants once the RSVPs have closed.
An opportunity to work on your current writing project, in company with other writers.
This session is mostly silent - allowing each writer to concentrate and get their words written, while sharing the time and online space with other writers.
It's a pleasant and productive start to the day.
Please note: meeting link is sent out to anyone who RSVPs 'yes' the evening before the meeting. Please check that your settings allow you to receive group messages from the organiser. Thanks.
