Cook Island & surrounding reefs

Join us for a day of diving with Cook Island and surrounding reefs.

Dive site depent on weather conditions for the day.

Our favourite sites are Cook Island, Nine Mile Reef, Fido’s and Wommin Reefs.

Cook Island Marine Sanctuary: The area around Cook Island has some of the best variety of dive sites in one area. Dives range from caves and tunnels to gradually sloping ledges and coral gardens. 4-22m. Nearby dive sites include Mary’s Rock, Turtle Sanctuary as well as Caves & Caverns.

Nine Mile Reef: Advanced dive. A number of different dive sites The main one being Shark Alley with grey nurse sharks in winter and leopard sharks and bull rays in summer with lots of pelagic fish. 7-33m.

Fido’s Reef: is a massive reef, just outside of Tweed Heads. It's named after the SS Fido, a small 90-year-old wreck which can still be seen. Ideal for drift diving and exploring. Has a 90-year-old wreck, the SS Fido. 4-24m.

Wommin Reef: is an old lava flow from when Mt Warning was an active volcano. It's covered in huge boulders with swim-throughs and lots of places to explore. Both dives are drift dives and suitable for all Divers.

Sunken Island: (aka Southern Reef) is an island, completely underwater and very similar in shape to Cook Island. Great for exploring with caves, tunnels as well as sheer and gradual walls. Depth ranges from 10-30m.

Mud Hole: (aka Ballast Rock Reef): Excellent deep dive with large ballast rocks stacked on the sand. 23-33m.

The Canyons: Spur of reef with big splits and caves joining most of them. 16-35m.

Kingscliff Pinnacle: Superb advanced dive. A pinnacle of rock coming out of the sand with a cave on the south side and a semi-flat top. 16-33m.

SS Alberta: More than 100-year-old shipwreck. Excellent shallow dive and ideal skin diving. 6-12m.

Double Dive includes boat charter, surface interval snacks, tea & coffee etc.

We will be having a BBQ lunch and drinks at the after the dive, cost will be split on day, depending on who is interested.
