OCUPS IN PERSON Meeting - Everyone is invited to join!

The meeting will start at 7:00 pm and will be in person. It will also be available as a Zoom meeting for OCUPS members.

There will be no snacks offered, but the group usually meets at a restaurant nearby before the meeting. This month it will be at Mario's across the street.

The meeting is open to anyone vaccinated and masks are optional. Also, we will continue to hold the monthly competition online (for members only), so submission and voting will stay the same. Winners will be announced at the meeting.

Our Speaker this month: David McGuire and Deron Verbeck from Shark Films/Shark Stewards:

David is the founder and director of the shark and marine conservation nonprofit "Shark Stewards". David is a marine biologist, National Geographic Explorer, and a research associate at the California Academy of Sciences where he conducts shark studies and media production in the San Francisco Bay area and in SE Asia. Deron is an award-winning, published photographer, specializing in underwater photography that he shoots on a single breath of air and only using ambient light. Devon works as part of the Kona Shark Stewards team.

ABOUT OCUPS
The Orange County Underwater Photographic Society was created in the late 1960s by a small group of dedicated scuba divers who shared a common interest in underwater photography.

Today OCUPS has over 70 members who share that same interest. We welcome all levels of underwater photographers to our monthly meetings to share new skills and techniques, show some favorite images, make new friends, and have fun while learning. If you're new to underwater photography you'll find many experienced photographers who are willing to help you get started. We also love visitors, so if you're in the area and can attend a meeting, please stop by to say hello.

If you decide to join OCUPS (about $25/year) you can also participate in the monthly photo contest.
