Explore Vasquez Rocks, then brunch at the Cowboy Tavern

Now that it's finally starting to get cooler, let's visit the iconic and scenic Vasquez Rocks, which has been featured in movies and TV shows like Blazing Saddles, The Flinstones, and Star Trek. You can climb the slanted rock formations or take a stroll down dirt trails in the flat areas, surrounded by sagebrush and shady juniper trees. And make sure to take pictures. It's real purty here.

We'll meet at 10 am at the front parking lot and make our way down to the larger rock formations. We can stay together as a group or you can explore on your own if you wish.

Also, please note that because this is an outdoor event in fairly rugged terrain, by signing up, you agree not to hold the host or this Meetup group responsible for any injuries. With that in mind, I want my guests to be safe, so wear appropriate outdoor shoes for climbing or hiking (so no flipfops or high heels). And bring water and maybe some light snacks (like granola bars or trail mix).

After an hour or so, we'll head down the road to the Cowboy Tavern for brunch. They take separate checks.
