Annie's Canyon Trail from Solana Hills Drive to Fletcher Cove Beach

Join us for a morning hike to Annie's Canyon from Solana Hills Drive to Fletcher Cove Beach out and back. We will start walking along the side of the freeway to access the canyon. This access point is steep up and downs. The canyon is short but worth the effort to get to it. We will walk along the picturesque San Elijo lagoon while looking for wildlife then take the beach south to Fletcher Cove. Be prepared for walking on soft, wet beach sand. The highlight is ladder-climbing narrow Annie's Canyon; however, there is a choice of an alternate route. We return from the beach along the side of the highway then go east by the lagoon back to our cars. The moderate part of the hike is coming back up the hill to the trail head.
Be sure to bring plenty of water, eye and skin protection from the sun and wear sturdy shoes.
