Let’s kick off Sunday with one of San Diego’s classic summit hikes. We’ll take the main Cowles Mountain trail — steady incline, solid workout, and wide-open views at the top.

Distance: ~3 miles round trip
Elevation Gain: ~950 ft
Difficulty: Moderate (consistent uphill, but very doable at a steady pace)
Time: ~1.5–2 hours total

This is a social, steady-pace hike — not a sprint, but not a crawl either. You should feel comfortable hiking uphill for about 45–60 minutes without needing long breaks.

We’ll regroup at natural stopping points and hang at the summit for photos and views before heading back down.

Bring water (at least 1 liter), good shoes, and sunscreen — there’s very little shade. Morning temps are usually nice, but it warms up quickly.

Optional post-hike coffee or lunch if there’s interest — we’ll decide day-of based on group size and vibe.

Good energy, respectful humans, and please only RSVP if you plan to show up. Let’s get after it.
