Agentic WordPress: Letting AI Operate Your Site

We’re keeping things rolling with another San Diego WordPress Meetup! Huge thanks to Ansir Coworking for hosting again.
This month’s theme is Agentic WordPress: Letting AI Operate Your Site. We’re going to explore what happens when AI can actually interact with WordPress, updating pages, creating content, managing plugins, and helping run real workflows inside wp-admin. This will be beginner friendly, practical, and heavily community-driven.
Drinks will be provided. If you can’t arrive right at 6:00 PM, that’s OK, but please plan to be there by 6:30 PM when we kick things off. Space is limited, so RSVP to reserve your spot.
6:00 to 6:30 PM: Networking + Drinks

• Meet other WordPress professionals, developers, and AI tinkerers
• Talk shop, share workflows, and connect with the community

6:30 to 6:50 PM: Intro to Agentic WordPress

• Beginner-friendly overview of AI agents and MCP
• How AI can actually operate WordPress
• Real-world examples and live walkthroughs
• Where this is heading for agencies, freelancers, and product builders

6:50 to 7:40 PM: Community Demos + Workshops
We’d love to have community members share real workflows, experiments, tools, and setups, whether polished or messy.
Possible topics include:

• Cursor + WordPress workflows
• AI-assisted content updates
• MCP server setups
• WooCommerce automation
• WP-CLI + AI
• Plugin development with AI
• AI guardrails and permissions
• Local development workflows

Short demos and interactive walkthroughs are encouraged.
7:40 to 8:00 PM: Open Discussion + Future Meetup Ideas
One thing we’ve learned from recent meetups is that this community has a ton of talent. Jim Walker led an awesome interactive security session last meetup, and we know there are many others experimenting with AI and WordPress in interesting ways. If you’d like to demo something, lead a future workshop, or share a workflow you’ve been testing, we’d love to continue making these meetups more community-led and interactive.
