Speaker Details:

Speaker:Alexander Gauthier, Hortonworks (http://hortonworks.com/)

Description:

A common use case we see at Hortonworks is how sensor data can be ingested to provide real time alerting and actionable intelligence. Biologics Manufacturing is an example of a Modern Data Application running on the Hortonworks Connected Platform powered by 100% open source Hadoop.

This presentation will demonstrate how the Hortonworks Connected Platform can be used to optimize the manufacturing of biologics (vaccines). The demo leverages many of the major components of Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) and Hortonworks Data Flow (HDF) including Apache NiFi, Kafka, HBase, Storm, and Slider to create a real time visualization of the manufacturing process with alerts and yield predictions. In this demo you will see:
Ingestion of bio-manufacturing sensor data with Apache NiFi and streaming to a processing engine using Kafka.Data processing in Apache Spark and storage of time series metrics in Apache HBase.A real time dashboard providing visualization for pH, Oxygen, and temperature control. When critical thresholds are breached, alerts are visible in the affected stage.

Speaker: Rik Tamm-Daniels, Paxata (http://www.paxata.com)

Interactive applications on Spark? The how, what and why of taking Spark to the next level.

Paxata is built to satisfy those who want to dramatically increase their productivity of ever-increasing data volumes while reducing the trap of data chaos. Business analysts work within an intuitive, visual, self-service data preparation application to gather, prepare and publish data with clicks, not code, with complete governance and security. IT teams administer the scale of data volume and variety, data sources, and business scenarios for both ad-hoc and repeatable data service needs.
