CAMIE CARPENTER and SPECIAL GUESTS!!! A Midsummer Night’s Networking Event

Details
EXCITING NEWS!!! Talent manager Camie Carpenter and her special guests, actors Randy Davison and SAG-AFTRA’s Larry Poole, will give a detailed presentation on how to break into the film and TV business in San Diego.
In addition to this terrific trio, we’ll be enjoying our red carpet, photo stations, drinks and food, a studio tour (get there at 5 pm!), more headshots and (of course!) networking...AND a special midsummer entertainment surprise!
MORE ABOUT CAMIE CARPENTER: The first ever winner of the SDFA Women in Film Award (2019), Camie is also a casting director, actor and award-winning producer. Based in La Jolla, she has been working with both established and up-and-coming actors and models of all ages for 25 years. Her talent can currently be seen from local casino, theme park and furniture store commercials all the way to a recurring role on a Top Ten Amazon show currently streaming.
Says Academy Member Tom Logan, DGA: “Camie's devotion to her clients is sincere and ethical. She opens doors for her talent and obtains opportunities that may possibly secure their big break, but it’s up to the actor to follow through. I am blessed to work with people like Camie. She is a credit to the entertainment industry."
A former child model, Camie is a graduate of the University of Southern California. In addition to almost 60 casting credits, her clients have won the Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Child Actor, Best Writer and Best TV Show over the years at the San Diego Film Awards. Let’s not forget the 48 Hour Project; her clients each year are honored, from Best Actor, Best Child Actor and People’s Choice. CONGRATULATIONS to Creator Pitch Contest winner Andy Rittenhouse!!! Andy and his kooky collaborators' zombie-drenched political satire Falling Out will get help from FilmNet members to produce short promo content of his choice.
Filmmakers Network San Diego's Monthly Event is back!!! At long last we’re starting up monthly networking events again to support the local film community. It's going to be even more hands-on, interactive and productive this time. Besides networking and hosting guest speakers, we will showcase short films and promo material, work on pitches and invite industry gatekeepers to hear them, put on fun games and contests as well as many more enriching activities. Networking includes supporting local producers, creators, actors, crew and film professionals in their effort to assemble teams and develop content and marketing opportunities, along with original FilmNet content and a documentary of our group, events, participants and their projects. Feel free to bring a guest or two! Below is the schedule for our meeting:
5:00–6:30 / Studio tour, doors open for red carpet, sign-up and seating
6:30-7:00 / Intro and success stories
7:00–8:30 / Presentations
8:30–9:00 / Networking
