Karl is away in September, so I'll be organizing this one and the talented Jordan Jacobo will host.

The theme is Write It, Make It, Get It Seen.

Three parts of the same job. How a script actually gets written, and what makes one stand out in a pile. How a film gets financed and made here in San Diego. And how you get it in front of people once it exists.

We ran a member survey this summer and read every answer. Getting your film seen came out first, funding second, writing third. So the panel answers those three questions, and most of the time goes to your questions during the Q & A. Get ready to discuss your projects and learn from our ultra amazing panelists.

Two panelists confirmed: Kathy Nicholas and Preston Barney.

The rest is networking, in three separate stretches. The hour before we start, after the pitches, and the last hour. It adds up to more of the night than everything else put together. Networking is back, baby!

Demo tables are open from 5:00. People showing you what they actually do, up close, the crafts that make a film look like a film. I'll say who closer to the night.

There are a couple of other new things going into the room too, and I'm holding those back for now.

One thing is changing. Member pitches are a new format this month. Thirty seconds each, fifteen minutes total, and there's a clock. Sign up at the door before 6:00pm, so nobody has to wonder who's next. It's short on purpose, so twice as many of you get a turn.

Actors, please bring headshots if you have them. Business cards or any promotional materials a plus. $10 admission at the event. Mark the date and bring somebody.
