Mod 4 mi hike with dogs Discovery Lake to Double Peak

Join me & Buddy(Vicky's dog) on a moderate uphill out & back dog hike to the top of Double Peak to see lovely views of the area. We will meet at the Trailhead at Discovery Park in San Marcos. This will count as a peak for those of you participating in the 52 peak challenge with the ladies hiking group. Please wear appropriate footwear and sun protection as there is no shade. Pack plenty of water for yourself and your dog. There are restrooms at the park and at the top of Double Peak. This is a good one if you want some cardio. You can read more about the hike here:

Estimated Difficulty Level: Moderate to hard steep uphill 1st 2 miles.
Meeting Time: 8:00 am, we will start nlt 5 mins after the posted start time.

PARTICIPANTS: This is a Ladies only group. No children, spouses are allowed to hike with us. If a friend would like to join us on a hike, they must join the group. New members & non-dog owners are welcome!
Dog Group: You are completely responsible for the behavior and welfare of your dog and yourself. The host is not responsible for you or your dog. By participating in this event, you acknowledge your responsibility and liability. Dogs must be at least 8 months old and fully vaccinated.
Bring water and a bowl for your dog. Bring water and a snack for yourself. Bring MORE water than you think you and your dog might need - summer hikes can be harder on your dog than you might think.

LEASH REQUIREMENT: No retractable leashes are allowed on this hike. Only leashes 6' or less in length are permitted. Dogs must remain on-leash for the entire hike.
SPACE: Do not allow dogs to meet via nose to nose or nose to tail interactions, especially upon arrival. Maintain a minimum 3' distance between dogs at all times.
REACTIVITY: Please position your dog in the back of the pack if they are reactive or uncomfortable in a group. Alert other owners when their dogs get too close to your dog and/or invade your dog's space.
YOUR CAPABILITIES: Read the entire hike description carefully. Know your limits. Sign up only if you feel the hike is doable as-described and bring all recommended materials and equipment. If you do not bring water or recommended equipment, you may not be able to continue on the hike, per organizer’s discretion.
YOUR RSVP: New attendees please take your RSVP seriously & cancel if you’re not going to make it. If RSVPs are closed reach out to the organizer in the COMMENTS of the specific event.
