Kit Carson Park Trail
Kit Carson Park, California - 875 Reviews, Map | AllTrails
Let's repeat this fun dog walk for this group. We will do 1 loop around the park starting at the East end of the park near LR Elementary School off of Las Palmas Ave. This is a 2.4-mile loop trail around Kit Carson Park. About half of the trail is paved, and the other half is hard-packed dirt. It is fairly level, making this an easy hike. We will be able to enter Queen Califia's Magical Circle - Wikipedia. We can enter the Circle as long as our dogs are leashed. Our dog's senses will be heightened by the many small squirrels/chipmunks, ducks and squirrels along this trail. The trail is a mixture of paved and dirt trails (stroller friendly). Be aware that there is some poison oak near the lake and on some sections along the trail. We will take water breaks as necessary.
Let's plan to picnic after the first loop. It would be a late breakfast or brunch. Bring a snack to share and your own beverage (Alcohol is NOT allowed at the park). We will find a nice table as we finish the first loop. If you like, can take an optional 2nd loop after our picnic break.

We'll meet at 9:00 AM in the parking lot at the east end of the park. Please navigate to the pin. I listed LRGreen Elem address to get you to that end of the park. Please turn right just after you pass the school. That road will take you into the park roads that leads to the east end parking lot.
We'll step off by 9:05AM
Navigation: You will exit on East Valley Parkway which turns into Bear Valley Parkway as you head east. You will continue for approx 3 mi and turn left at Las Palmas Ave. LR Green School will be on your left once your turn onto Las Palmas. After you pass LR Green School you will see a driveway that leads into Kit Carson Park. Turn left into that driveway, pass the restroom bldg (where we will meet) and turn right at the stop sign and continue to the parking lot. We will meet there.
There are restrooms along the way if you need to stop.
