Moderate 6+ mi Lake Hodges Boat Dock w/Dogs

Join Maggie & Winnie & I on a 6 mi on a Moderate (due to distance) out and back hike from Piedras Pintadas Parking lot to the old Lake Hodges Boat dock. This is an easy trail with little elevation. There will be a creek crossing along the way where there is a narrow wood bridge to cross. There may be poison oak by the creek so we want to keep our dogs close by. A trek pole may be helpful but not required.
You have the option to turn back at the 2mi point but you'll be on your own. Please let me know at the start of our hike.
There is a chemical toilet at the parking lot and there is a flush toilet by the old dock. If we're lucky it'll be open, if not there are chemical toilets in the area. BRING enough water for your dog and yourself and wear sun protection.

Please be on time. Weather is warming up and a late start will mean hiking in the heat. There is little shade on this hike.

CONTROL your dog so that nose-to-nose and nose-to-behind interactions are avoided, especially at the beginning of the hike.

ALLOW space between dogs to minimize conflict. IF YOUR DOG IS REACTIVE, please walk behind the group.

Leash rules: PLEASE NO RETRACTABLE OR LONG LEASHES. Please keep leashes at 6 feet long or shorter.
