Kit Carson Park Trail
Kit Carson Park, California - 875 Reviews, Map | AllTrails
Join me and my dogs on a 2.4-mile loop trail around Kit Carson Park. About half of the trail is paved a good part of it is hard packed dirt. It is fairly level, making this an easy hike. However, we will follow a side trail (called the View Trail) 0.16 miles up a small hill to the gazebo. The gazebo has the best view of the park. We will walk by Queen Califia's Magical Circle - Wikipedia. It will be open as we finish the first loop. My dogs & I and anyone else who wants to continue will be doing the 2nd loop. You're welcome to leave after the first loop. There are small animals like ducks and squirrels along this trail. There are nice spots for water & bathroom breaks along the way.
Our dog's senses will be heightened by the small animals and ducks. We will not let our dogs "off-leash".
We'll in the parking lot, at the eastern end of the park
We'll do our best to start on time.
If you like can take a short snack break at the end of the hike in the Picnic area.
Navigation: You will exit on East Valley Parkway which turns into Bear Valley Parkway as you head east. You will enter at the main entrance to the park and turn right to follow the road to the east end of the park. You'll see a small lot at the end of the park grounds (it's a left at the last Stop Sign in the park).
