SD Ruby Monthly Meeting

We meet the first Thursday of each month at LEARN Academy.

We start with a featured talk or two, throw in some lightning talks and giveaways, and then go out for beers and networking afterward.

FEATURED TALK FOR APRIL:

Steven McFarlane, Notch8 - "RackHack"

Rack is a big part of ruby web apps but sometime it is forgotten as a good way to solve common webapp problems. This talk will review the basics of rack, then move to showing how we can use already available middle ware in rack-contrib (like Rack::TimeZone and Rack::Backstage), and finally writing some custom middleware.

We still have a few slots open for lightning talks. Feel free to sign up here: http://bit.ly/1Nsq9g8 (Google Form). Lightning talks are 5 minutes and a great chance to dip your toes in if you've always wanted to talk at SDRuby, but haven't had the chance to yet.

After the meeting, we'll head out for a round or two of drinks.

DIRECTIONS

Meetings are held at LEARN Academy downtown (704 J Street), at 7:30pm, on the first Thursday of the month. Metered parking downtown is free after 6pm.
