The Marinos: How to Write Marketable Music for Media Projects (film, tv, etc..,)

Details
"Extracting the DNA in Songs and Instrumentals: How To Write Marketable Music For Media Projects".
This seminar is being presented by local composers Tracey and Vance Marino, who not only host the local NSAI chapter, they also are THE local source of info on getting your music placed in TV, Film, Commercials, etc... Here is their link: http://www.songmakerpro.com
This seminar is about reverse engineering approaches to writing specifically for media projects (as opposed to writing a song and then trying to find a market for it). They'll also talk about how to interpret what the client wants; why it's important to analyze music and not just listen to it; what is broadcast quality and why it's important. They'll also talk about some of the current tools of the trade; being careful of copyright infringement; where to find potential projects; and what is "dated vs. current" sounding. They'll play a few "before and after" examples of reference song examples companies gave them and how they wrote to their specifications.
Tracey and Vance will also listen to some of our music and offer feedback, but the songs and instrumentals should be focused on media (film, TV, etc.).
HERE IS YOUR CHALLENGE: write a song or instrumental that you think is marketable or is based on a song/instrumental that's being used in film, TV, a commercial or is in a production music library, etc. Ideally, bring a recording of the original song/instrumental that inspired you, and the song/instrumental you created.
Got questions about this? Feel free to ask for details or clarification.
PLEASE RSVP so we can plan ahead.
thanks
