Free Screenwriting Workshop
Details
If you’re looking to get an idea out of your head and onto the page, join us for a free storytelling workshop for screenwriters. Even if you have no ideas but want to try writing join us! We’ll do some writing prompts that will help you generate material.
Whether you’re thinking of a tv show, a movie, or a webseries, you will benefit from some working with these innovative storytelling techniques that you won’t find in your average screenwriting book. These tools are as old as the Ancient Greeks but have been refreshed in the last decade by the great Angus Fletcher.
In this 2-hour workshop with film writer/director Sean A. Mulvihill, you will learn:
-How to work backwards from the end
-How to create cognitive effects to make your audience feel emotion
-How a screenplay differs from a novel or stage play
Come with your latest loglines, story pitches and ideas and we will work together to shape them into an idea you’ll be excited about working on!
If you enjoy this free intro class, you’ll have the opportunity to enroll in a six-week screenwriting course that will help you develop your idea out to a full step outline!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Sean A. Mulvihill is the award-winning screenwriter of "Act Social" feature film which won the "Film Heals" Award at the 2021 Manhattan Film Festival.
