Bitcoin storage 101: keys and wallets (plus Ledger Nano S demo)

Details

Whether you’re a current Bitcoin owner, or still thinking about getting some, you need to think about how you’re going to safely and securely store it. Your private keys are the critical piece of the puzzle that need protection, and for that you’ll need a Bitcoin wallet.

Come have a beer, and we’ll chat about what private keys are, what wallet options are available, and which one(s) might be best for you!

This is a recurring meetup that’s going to have a lot of the same content at the start of each meetup, but at the end I’ll do a live demo using a specific wallet (I’ll pick from my current list of favorites) and you’ll be able to see for yourself how it all works.

This week, I’ll demonstrate using a Ledger Nano S hardware wallet. If you’ve been thinking about getting one, this is a great opportunity to see how they work.
