The primary book we will read and discuss at this book club will be: Spiderwoman's Daughter by Anne Hillerman. This is a Kelly pick. I believe it is a standalone story in a bigger series. **Additionally, we are going to throw in an optional shorter second book: Comfort Me with Apples by Catherynne M. Valent nominated by Jennifer Andrews. Don't stress if you can't read both. We will talk about the primary book first and the second shorter (optional) book at the end of our meeting. I'd like to try doing a primary book and optional second short book/novella some months. Spices it up a bit in my opinion.

Since the weather is improving, I thought we should try a picnic at an outdoor venue. We will plan to meet at Four Tree Island in Portsmouth, NH. There is a parking lot there and you just walk across a small causeway to Four Tree Island where they have a few overhangs and picnic tables. I'll show up early to try and lock down one of the overhangs for us. I'd suggest bringing a folding chair and, if you want, you can bring some food or snacks for yourself or others. I'll bring a cooler of seltzers and some snacks to share. This is a public park, so let's avoid alcohol. We can walk into downtown after if anyone wants to grab a drink.

If the weather looks really rainy I will make the call and change the venue on here (likely 2 days before) and we can switch back to our usual Garrison City Beerworks. Just keep an eye on this page to see where to go.

Please update your RSVP if you can't make it as soon as you know you can't make it. It helps us out.

We won't dive into talking about the book(s) until the bulk of the RSVPs show up.

Message me in the app or post a comment in the group with any comments or concerns. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

As usual, I challenge you all to come up with a question to pose to the group about the books for when we meet up.

Happy Reading! ๐Ÿ˜Š
