A Permaculture Principles Talk & Tour

We will talk about what permaculture is, especially the ethics and principles that underpin it as we tour Amy & Steve's diversified homestead. We'll see: soil building, sheet mulch and hugelkultur gardens, animals in permaculture, a diverse orchard, terraced swales & berms, water holding ponds, and unusual plants.

Permaculture (from permanent agriculture, as well as permanent culture) is theory used as an approach to designing food producing and human supporting systems in truly sustainable and ecological ways, mimicking natural systems.

Geared towards those new to the permaculture concept, but also great for those who want more grounding in the theory and principles of permaculture and to see it implemented. This class follows up from an online intro we offered in March - you don't have to attend both but they will complement each other.

PRESENTER: Amy Antonucci worked on an organic farm & CSA for 10 years before becoming a certified permaculture designer and focusing on homesteading. She keeps poultry, goats and gardens at Living Land Permaculture Homestead in Barrington NH ( http://livinglandpermaculture.com/ ) with her partner. She has spoken at libraries, schools, garden clubs, at the NOFA-NH winter conference, and been interviewed on the radio.
