Let's Hand out Flowers to Strangers to Spread Positivity in Dover, NH

Details
- Normally I welcome new people to any event, but with this one, where we'll be interacting with the public, I am going to limit this to people that I know and trust and people who have been to past events. No offense, but this is not the best event for a new person, so if you haven't been to a past event and I don't know you, I will unRSVP you.
Not to get heavy, but I lost a good friend recently and wanted to do something in his honor. He was always someone that would try to cheer people up and was a really welcoming dude. So, with him in mind, I am going to buy 200 or so single sunflowers to give out for free to strangers in Downtown Dover.
The goal of this event is for a small group of us to walk around Downtown Dover and give a flower and a smile to random people we see. Everyone is carrying a weight we don't see, and maybe this small act of kindness will make someone's day. Maybe it will help someone who just needs a little kind distraction from their own problems.
We will meet at Henry Law Park at 5pm at the outdoor ampitheater/stage by The Children's Museum, and from there, we can divide up the flowers, and as two groups, we can walk around Dover and try to hand out 100 flowers per group. The reason I think we should do activity in two teams is because we can cover more ground, and people might be intimidated if a group of 10 people came over to them versus 5. (No guests, please.) Bring good walking shoes. 😄
The idea is that when we see a person, one person from the group will go over to them, offer a flower, and say something to the effect of, "I just wanted to give you a flower to spread some positivity. I hope you have a great day."
I'll give my number to people in the other group, and when we are done, we can meet back up and grab some dinner or drinks and exchange stories.
This is an experiment for me, but it always feels good to do something nice. Plus, what a cool way to meet some local people.
As always, feel free to message me with any questions or concerns.
This means a lot to me, and if you do join in to help hand out these flowers, just know that I really appreciate you.
I hope to see you there. If this goes well, I'd love to make it an annual thing. The world needs more love and kindness, and I know this group has both to give.
😊
